Carnegie Mellon University is known as a place for makers. Whether it’s ethical technology solutions, or art that explores cultural intersections, every scholar and researcher at CMU is making something. But they aren’t just making for the sake of progress. They’re making it possible: for people to live healthier lives, for the earth to have smarter solutions to climate change, for businesses to have the data they need to drive better decisions, and for all of us to have a deeper understanding of what makes us human.
Make Possible
With the $2 billion “Make Possible” campaign, CMU had a way to showcase not only its groundbreaking achievements, but the ultimate outcome of this important work and the promise it holds for the future. We partnered with the university to produce eight different case statements — one for each college and school — which offered ample room to share the many stories of their current progress and what that meant for the world. Through a kitting system, CMU’s communicators could also combine several case statements in a cohesive presentation, making for a rich, sophisticated experience that was customized to the donor’s affinities and interests.
All told, this campaign was a compelling documentation of the incredible things Carnegie Mellon has made possible — and will make possible — for humanity. And with the funds raised through this vital initiative, we can’t wait to see the university do even more.
For The Founders
Carnegie Mellon University is an internationally renowned research powerhouse. With top rankings in technology, science, art, and policy, CMU is known for producing inventions that truly revolutionize the world. Since its inception, the University has been an incubator for innovators, bringing great minds together to collaborate across disciplines while creating things that change the very fabric of our society.
Together, we produced a microsite, a video, and a book that featured stunning portrait photography and stories of some of their most impressive achievements from founders past and present. The concept was also incorporated into a number of events on campus, culminating in an exhibition that featured founders at work. All told, it was a powerful celebration of Carnegie Mellon’s impressive legacy—and of the success that they’re sure to continue well into the future.
